forthcoming productions

The Glasgow Light Opera Club normally stage one major annual production - although there can be exceptions, and also the occasional concert! GLOC's major productions run for one week, with evening and matinee performances. Since 1957, GLOC has staged the vast majority of their annual major productions in Glasgow's King's Theatre - one of Scotland's premier theatre venues.

Details of all forthcoming productions, once confirmed, can be found on this page.

Calamity Jane - Adapted by Ronald Hamner and Phil Park from the stage play by Charles K Freeman after the Warner Brothers film written by James O'Hanlon. Lyrics by Paul Francis Webster, Music by Sammy Fain.

A humorous look at the relationship between Jane (a real all American tomboy) and Wild Bill Hickock, a gambler. Set in the wild west in the 1880's we follow "Calam" through numerous escapades with would be beaux, showmen, show women and showmen dressed as women! After some romantic confusion, Jane wins Bill's hand and the whole of Deadwood celebrates.

Producer - J Campbell Kerr
Musical Director - Hugh Reid
Choreographer - Catherine Dunn

The chosen charity for this show is CLIC Sargent Scotland.
