The curtain came down on GLOC's Centenary celebrations on Saturday 24th November 2007 when 90 members/guests attended a very special 'Black Tie' Dinner at The House for an Art Lover. The meal was preceded by an excellent cabaret act courtesy of "Ad hoc", and this name aptly describes what happened after the meal when all in attendance gathered round the piano and sung their way through a multitude of shows!
2007 has been a very busy and exciting year for GLOC: in May 2007 GLOC presented "The King and I" in the King's Theatre, Glasgow; and, in October 2007, GLOC presented "Fiddler on The Roof", also in Glasgow's King's Theatre.
In addition to these productions, GLOC members (past and present) enjoyed a Civic Dinner in the Glasgow City Chambers; and then, to round off a very memorable year, the formal dinner in The House for an Art Lover was a perfect finalé!
Here's to the next 100 years!
