[The Cast] The Merry Widow

An operetta in three acts. Music by Franz Lehar. (1905).

A waltz with the Parisian aristocracy in a highly amusing story concerning the fate of Pontevedro (a bankrupt state) and the millions of the recently widowed Anna Glavari. Numerous suitors try to woo her, but only one, Danilo Danilovich, can succeed. Occasionally confusing in parts, with missing fans and jealous husbands, the show concludes with the lovers united and Pontevedro is saved. Hurrah!

Producer - Alan C. Jones
Musical Director - Gordon Currie
Choreographer - Christine Lacey

The chosen charity for this show was Riding for the Disabled Association (Glasgow Group) and they benefited from a donation of £1300.
